Effective August 24, 2026.

A project about surveillance should not surveil its readers. Here is exactly what happens when you use anything we run.

This website (wncwatch.org)

This is a static website. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments, no cookies set by us, no analytics, and no advertising. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information about visitors, and we have nothing to sell or hand over.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log basic technical information about requests (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes. That logging is theirs, not ours; we never see it. GitHub’s practices are described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Some pages embed or link to primary sources such as the city’s own meeting videos. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy policies.

Our social accounts

We post on Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky as @wncwatch. When you follow, like, comment, or message those accounts, that interaction happens on the platform and is governed by the platform’s own privacy policy, not by us. We see what any account operator sees: public interactions and messages sent to us. We do not run ads, we do not buy or boost distribution, and we do not use platform ad or audience tools that profile you.

We use standard publishing tools to schedule our own posts. Those tools access only our accounts, never yours.

Messages and tips

If you write to us, we keep the correspondence itself and treat it as confidential. Do not send us anything you are not comfortable with us reading. We do not share correspondence with anyone outside the project except where the law requires it.

Changes

If any of this changes, the change will appear on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in Updates.
